OUTPATIENT SURGERY
Frequently Asked Questions

Surgical Scheduling

Each of our offices has a surgery scheduler who will help you with everything related to your upcoming surgery. They will provide you with your pre-surgical instructions, resolve any billing issues and answer any questions that you may have regarding your upcoming surgery. We offer surgery times Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Before Your Surgery

Our Pre-Surgical Instructions sheet is designed to ensure that your surgery is as safe and comfortable as possible. It is very important that you read them carefully and comply with all of the requirements. If you fail to follow these instructions, your surgery may need to be cancelled and rescheduled to avoid complications during surgery.

Please make sure that you arrive on or before your scheduled check-in time at the main reception station. Our team will assist in the admission process and will escort you into the surgery center.

After the Surgery

The majority of our patients are able to go home 30 - 60 minutes after their surgery. Before you go, we will explain your postoperative instructions and provide you with a written copy. Lost your post-op instructions?

You will need to arrange for a ride home and you must be discharged to the care of a responsible adult, as our patients are instructed not to drive for 24 hours following surgery due to the lingering effects of the anesthetic. We will call you after your surgery to check on how you are doing and see if you have any questions.

Billing

You will receive a surgical bill from each of the following three medical providers:

Edwin D. Vyhmeister MD, C. Hendrik Kirchhoff MD and Harold J. Kirkpatrick MD - Providing services in hand and wrist injury surgery, tennis elbow and shoulder therapy and tendinitis treatment to the areas of Everett and Seattle, Washington.
